Raised in the simplicity of Island life in
rural Oahu, has given me a deep affection for the stunning geologic beauty and
hospitable life styles of the multi-ethnic peoples of Hawaii, and other Pacific
Islands. Those elements of influence are evident in some of my work.
Moving to Oregon 35 years ago has given me the
opportunity of discovering the awesome natural beauty and wonder of the Great
Pacific North West. Adding yet another source from which I draw my inspiration.
Painting for me is a rewarding journey of
perseverance, discovery, joy, and humility.
Attempting to portray from nature, a visual
experience that sidesteps the scrutiny of the mind, and rather, engages the
emotions of the heart, is an essential goal I patiently seek to achieve. Though
I may trip and stumble now and again, through growth, and modest triumphs, I will, with determination, carry on.
